Thane: A police constable attached to the Thane Police Commissionerate was arrested after his colleague alleged rape on the promise to marry her.
According to police, accused U Munde (25), who was under training at the police training school in Bhiwandi befriended a trainee lady constable also hailing from his home town Osmanabad.
He entered into physical relationship with her, promising to marry her. However, the victim later learnt that Munde was already married to another girl in May following which she lodged a complaint. The Police has registered an offence under section 376 and has arrested the constable.
