AMU team visits proposed site of spl centre in Kerala

A five member Aligarh Muslim University team led by its Vice-Chancellor P. K. Abul Azis on Wednesday visited the proposed site in Kerala`s Mallapuram district where the varsity will set up a special centre.

district where the varsity will set up a special centre.

The team went to the site at Perinthelmanna. The Centre
has already allocated an initial amount of Rs 25 crore in the
current fiscal year for the centre.
AMU sources here quoted Vice Chancellor Azis as saying
that in order to put minorities on the path of intellectual
resurgence, the AMU has conceived an ambitious plan of
establishing five special campuses in different locations of
the country, including one in the Mallapuram district of
Kerala.
Prof Azis also lauded the initiative taken by the
Kerala government in providing necessary facilities, including
land, for setting up the special Centre at Mallappuram.
