Bhubaneswar: NDA allies will meet in New
Delhi on Wednesday to chalk out the strategy to be adopted by the
Opposition parties on the Bofors gun deal issue after an
income tax tribunal stated that kickbacks were paid to late
Win Chaddha and Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi.

Leaders of NDA would meet in New Delhi tomorrow to
discuss threadbare the Bofors deal issue in the light of the
Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) ruling, in order to firm
up their views and work out plans on future action, BJP
General Secretary Anant Kumar told reporters here.

He also accused the Congress-led UPA government at the
Centre of misusing CBI for probe into the scandal.

"We have always been saying that UPA is using CBI as
Congress Bureau of Investigation and misusing the premier
agency in states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar," Kumar said.

On the ITAT ruling that Rs 41.2 crore were paid as
kickbacks in the deal, he said closure of the case while these
proofs were available showed a "fresh case of misuse of CBI."

In order to finalise the party`s strategies, BJP`s
core committee will also hold a meeting in Delhi to discuss
the Bofors issue, Kumar said.
