Chidambaram to visit Shillong Tuesday

Chidambaram will review the passing out ceremony of the 36th batch of trainees of the North Eastern Police Academy on the outskirts of the capital city.

will pay a day-long visit to Shillong on Tuesday.

There are 179 trainees, consisting 20 DySP (Prob) and 159
Cadet SIs from the N- E States (Manipur 134, Mizoram 1,
Tripura 11, Meghalaya 22, Nagaland 5, Assam 5 and Arunachal
Pradesh 1), who will pass out from NEPA on that day.

Chidambaram is also expected to meet the senior officials
of Meghalaya Police and the state home department to review
the security scenario of the state during his day-long visit.
