Clear your stand on corruption: Cong asks BJP

Congress on Tuesday said it was now up to BJP to demonstrate its stand on corruption.

New Delhi: Congress on Tuesday said it was now up to BJP to demonstrate its stand on corruption after sulking former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa virtually gave an ultimatum to the party leadership to give him a suitable position by January 15.
"The fact is that the former Chief Minister of Karnataka
is trying to collect many IOUs which he has with the senior
leaders of BJP. Now it is for the BJP to demonstrate whether
its commitment or professed commitment to fight corruption is
only tokenism or there is some substance to the assertion,"
party spokesperson Manish Tewari told reporters here.
Yeddyurappa, who has been lobbying for a suitable position
ever since he was removed from the post of chief minister in
August last year on corruption charges, yesterday exuded
confidence that the BJP high command would take a decision at
an "appropriate time" on his demand for which he would wait
till January 15.

Tewari also took a dig at the BJP for its decision to
launch a protest to oust UPA government and said, "Right now
BJP should launch a campaign to save its governments in Punjab
and Uttarakhand."
