Miriti (WB): The Congress on Tuesday made it clear that it would project scion of Gandhi family, Rahul as the future leader.
"We are always in favour of new leadership. Rahul Gandhi is our future leader," senior Congress leader and Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee told reporters here.
Mukherjee was quizzed about whether Congress is focusing on new faces for future leaders.
On BJP’s attempt to project second generation leaders, the Congress veteran said, "What BJP is doing is their internal matter."
Mukherjee was at his ancestral home here in Birbhum district to celebrate Durga puja.
Taking a jibe at the saffron party, the Finance Minister questioned the BJP`s performance in recent assembly election in various states.
"What is their performance? In the last elections they had fought in more than 725 seats. How many have they won? Let us see their performance in the coming elections," he said.
