New Delhi/Bangalore: After terming the hype surrounding Narendra Modi as a mere ‘bubble on water’, former prime minister HD Deve Gowda went a step ahead on Thursday and deduced the reason behind the Modi phenomena.
Gowda claimed that Narendra Modi is getting publicity owing to the financial support extended to him by corporates.
“If corporate houses had not given so much financial support to Modi would he have managed to get so much publicity?” Gowda said.
Earlier Gowda had dismissed Narendra Modi saying that the Gujarat Chief Minister was not the only leader left in the country. Slamming Modi Gowda had said that there are lot of leaders in the country and politics is not the property of one individual. "It is the property of the nation,” he said.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Beni Prasad Verma said, Thursday, the right place for people like Narendra Modi and Mulayam Singh Yadav is in the jail and not in the government.
