New Delhi: A private television news channel investigation has exposed the `fraud` taking place in flying schools, which holds significance after a series of revelations about Indian pilots furnishing fake documents to get to command a commercial airliner.

The news channel team investigating the academy found that the Carver Flying Academy in Baramati in Maharashtra was apparently given licence despite flouting rules and the school was allowed to operate despite DGCA objections. It was later suspended in 2007.
However former DGCA Kanu Gohain has rubbished the allegation of political nexus behind the fake licence scam and said that there was no political pressure for the restoration of licence. Gohain further added that the licence was restored after 11 months without any political pressure.
