New Delhi: Owing to early onset of fog,
Railways has decided not to run 28 train services from December 1, nearly three weeks ahead of schedule, for the safety of passengers.

Services of 28 trains will remain cancelled and 8 trains
will be partially cancelled from December 1 this year till
January 31 next year as per the decision.

Earlier, railways had announced cancellation of these
trains from December 20.
"Fog has occurred earlier this year than what is normally
forecast and also as compared to last year. That is why the
decision was taken for advancing the schedule of cancelled
trains," said a senior Railway Ministry official.

The cancellation of trains is being announced in advance
so that travellers can plan their alternative journeys
accordingly and are put to minimum inconvenience.

Hatia Sampark Kranti Express, Howrah Janta Express,
Sitamarhi Lichhvi Express, Kanpur Shatabdi, Dehradun Ujjaini
Express, and Amritsar Intercity Express are among the 28
trains which will remain cancelled for two months from
December.

He said full refund can be availed by those passengers
who have already booked in the trains which have been
cancelled from 1st December 2011 onwards.
