Haridwar: BJP President Nitin Gadkari and
leader of Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj today took a dip in river
Ganga.
Gadkari along with his wife and friends reached the VIP
ghat area, where he took the dip and later performed a puja,
party sources said.
Gadkari was received by Uttarakhand Chief Minister
Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank, who presented him with a Rudraksha
Mala and a shawl. The BJP president congratulated Nishank for
successfully conducting the mega-event.
Ganga Sabha, the umbrella organisation of pandas and
purohits (priests) felicitated Gadkari on his arrival to
Haridwar.
Speaking on the occasion, Gadkari said he prayed for
peace in the country, they said.
Earlier, senior party leader Sushma Swaraj also took
bath in the holy river at the VIP ghat along with her family
members.
