Goa MLAs to get Rs 50 lakh each for development work

Each of the 40 legislators in Goa will get Rs 50 lakh for the development of their constituencies as a part of Golden Jubilee Package, Chief Minister Digamber Kamat said today.

Goa will get Rs 50 lakh for the development of their
constituencies as a part of Golden Jubilee Package, Chief
Minister Digamber Kamat said today.

Presenting the state budget in the state assembly, he
said a provision of Rs 20 crore has been made during the year
for the scheme named as `Swarnamahotsavi area development
fund.`

The scheme will be in effect from December 19, 2010.
He said the funds would be utilised by each legislator to
develop their areas and the modalities for release of the
funds would be worked out soon.

"The works will be executed through the deputy
collectors of the respective talukas on the recommendations of
the members of the House," Kamat said.
