Issues of faith and belief can`t be solved in court: Thackeray

Mumbai: In the backdrop of the decades-old
Ayodhya title suit case, Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray on Friday
said matters of faith and belief cannot be resolved in any
court of law.
In an editorial in party mouthpiece `Saamana`, Thackeray
said the Ayodhya issue pertains to the faith and belief of
Hindus.

"Lord Ram was born in Ayodhya and was its king. Do we
live in our own country by suppressing our faith and beliefs.
Issues of faith and belief cannot be solved in any court of
law," he said.

He ridiculed appeals for peace made by the Centre in view
of the Ayodhya verdict when it has not been able to ensure
normalcy in Kashmir.

Thackeray said Kashmir has been burning for the last
four months.
"Despite appeals for peace by the Prime Minister Manmohan
Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, there is no sign of
it. The government cannot silence the separatists who favour
Pakistan, but will not allow Hindus to say `Jai Sri Ram`," he
added.
