cases across the country to 3881.

The 28-year-old woman, a permanent resident of UK, along
with four others tested positive for the virus in Chandigarh,
where confirmed cases of the pandemic swelled to 17.

While Maharashtra, the state worst-hit by the virus
recorded 12 fresh cases, Karnataka which is next to it in
terms of fatalities registered seventeen more cases of swine
flu which has claimed 98 lives so far across the country.

However, an official statement here put the countrywide
toll at 93 with lab confirmation in some of the casualties
still awaited.

A four-month-old girl in Ambala also tested positive for
swine flu, a health department official said.

Uttar Pradesh topped the list with 27 cases followed by
Delhi (22), Tamil Nadu (21) and West Bengal (10).

The highest number of cases were reported from
Maharashtra which has registered 1,591 cases so far followed
by Delhi with 643 cases.

Of the 128 new cases reported during the day, only two
are imported.
