New Delhi: Railways on Monday cancelled three
trains and rescheduled about 20 due to fog in some parts of
North India and late running of corresponding trains.
"Though weather conditions have improved in the capital,
the cancellation and late running is due to prevalence of fog
conditions in some places in North India and late running of
corresponding trains," a Northern Railway spokesperson said.
While Rajdhanis from Bhubaneswar, Dibrugarh and Chennai
arrived three to four hours behind schedule, Northern Railway
cancelled Shan-e-Punjab Express, Sachkhand Express and
Seemanchal express.
Trains which were rescheduled included North East
Express and Bandra Garib Rath Express.
Northern Railway had yesterday cancelled 36 trains which
included some Rajdhani trains, rescheduled 24 trains even as
more than 50 incoming trains to Delhi arrived several hours
behind schedule.
Earlier, it has announced cancellation of 19 trains till
January 31 to cope with the situation. Cancellation of trains
due to fog has led to a loss of more than 12 crore to Northern
Railway.
