New Delhi: With internet emerging as a major communication tool, digital marketing firm Magnon Solutions has launched an online reputation and perception management service for corporate, political and celebrity clients.
The Online Reputation Management (ORM) is already being adopted a key focus area among the public relation agencies and brand marketers in the developed countries, but it is still in a nascent stage in India.
"We felt the need to research and develop quantifiable ORM solutions for our clients, as we realised it was now getting impossible to ignore what web communities and online consumers are saying about you or your brand," Magnon`s founder and CEO Vineet Bajpai said.
Asked about the potential clients for such services, he said: "Some believe that given the ever-increasing internet user-base and individual empowerment online, even future elections would be fought on the web.
"So while corporate clients will remain our main market, our services could immensely benefit political organisations as well as celebrities and public-figures," he added.
Bajpai said that brand communication was getting more and more interactive and consumers were becoming the "most powerful brand evangelists or de-evangelists", making it imperative for companies to measure and manage their online image quotients.
Bajpai, whose company boasts of over 1,500 clients and which provides services like web designing, internet marketing and online advertising among others, said that a newspaper article can be read and forgotten over a period of time, but the web content never fades away.
"In fact the older the content, the more visible it becomes on most search engines. So the impact is not only far greater in terms of propagation, but also in terms of permanence," he added.
