Arunachal students for streamlining ILP system

The Arunachal Students Federation (ASF) has urged the Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner to streamline the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system by replacing the existing ILP books with Swipe Identity Card (SIC).

Itanagar: The Arunachal Students Federation (ASF) has urged the Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner to streamline the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system by replacing the existing ILP books with Swipe Identity Card (SIC).

This SIC, if introduced, will not only help police to monitor increasing crimes rate easily but also help trace all fake ILP holders, ASF said in its letter to the Deputy Commissioner.

"We appeal to the state government to change the ILP book system to Swipe Identity Card and allow persons to enter the state only after their ID cards got swiped," the ASF said.

Through this process the state police can easily monitor the Increasing crime rate and fake ILP holders as well, the ASF said.

Besides, instruction should be given to the owners of all rent houses to collect details of their tenants, including name, identity proof and passport size photo etc, and submit the same to the authorities concerned.

This will help police to trace persons who flee the state after committing crimes, ASF said.

Round-the-clock monitoring system in three check gates, namely Bandardewa, Holongi and Gumto should be introduced to checking swipe Identity cards.

CCTV cameras should also be installed with proper lighting system in those check gates, it said.

The ASF also demanded to check unauthorized issue of SIM cards in various shops.

Most of the criminals use such fake SIM cards issued by those shopkeepers, it claimed and urged the Deputy Commissioner to take proper action against the fake SIM card issuing shopkeepers as well as telecom authority.
