PMGSY in Arunachal Pradesh

The Union Rural Development Ministry is considering sanction of the proposals of Arunachal Pradesh government under the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana to be implemented in the state during the current fiscal.

Pradesh government under the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana
to be implemented in the state during the current fiscal.

Union R D Minister Dr C P Joshi in a letter to Lok Sabha
member Takam Sanjoy last month informed that pending fixation
of the new target for road connectivity, only proposals of a
few categories would be considered for clearance under PMGSY,
official sources said here Wednesday.

The categories of proposals included residual new
connectivity coverage envisages under Phase-I of Bharat Nirman, projects to be taken up with the assistance of the
World Bank and Asian Development Bank, new habitation
connectivity in 33 identified blocks and special road
connectivity packages announced for the border areas,
sources added.

Sanjoy had earlier pleaded with the ministry for approval
of proposals for improving connectivity to 207 habitations in
the state through a 1,062 kilomters road under Bharat Niram
and PMGSY.
