Sikkim grant to 129 Buddhist monasteries

Gangtok: The state government has decided to
provide Rs. 4.39 lakh to 129 monasteries as grants in the
financial year 2010-11, official sources said on Thursday.

As many as 22 monasteries under Category `B` will get
grants of Rs 6000 each, while 93 monasteries under category
`C` will be given Rs 3000 each, the sources said.

Fourteen othe monasteries under Category `D` will receive
a grant of Rs 2000 each, they said.
