Two militants nabbed in Assam

Two insurgents of ethnic Rabha Viper Army were caught by security forces and arms seized from them in Assam`s Goalpara district on Monday.

them in Assam`s Goalpara district on Monday.

The two militants were arrested for a hideout at
Bardamal under Agiah police station on a tip off by a combined
team of Army, CRPF and police on a tip off, official sources
said.

A 12 mm revolver with ammunition and a pistol, three
mobile sets with SIM cards and a motor-cycle without a
number plate were seized from the militants, the sources said.

Supposedly formed in 2008 with the support of the
ULFA, the little-known local armed group with influence in
Goalpara district has been involved in arms smuggling,
kidnapping and extortion.
