Itanagar: Security forces gunned down two NSCN cadres in a fierce encounter in troubled Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The cadres, identified as self styled Lieutenant Keejan Pangtok and Akhi Yobin, were gunned down by a joint team of Assam Riffles and state police personnel at a jungle area of Ningrang village in Miao on July 19, a delayed official report informed here today.
While Pangtok hails from Dimapur (Nagaland), Yobin belongs to Vijaynagar circle under Changlang district, the report said.
The bodies were handed over to the relatives after completion of all legal formalities and a case was also registered at Miao police station, sources informed.
The forces have cordoned off the area and combing operation was in search of other possible cadres, the report added.
