Tezpur: Two persons, including a child,
were washed away by flood waters in lower Assam`s Sonitpur
district where the rising Brahmaputra and its tributaries were
also causing heavy erosion in Tezpur area.
A farmer Bulu Patangia (62) along with his cattle
was washed away by the flood waters of Brahmaputra at
Dah-Parbatia Sauchuburi near here on Wednesday, police said on Friday.
A six-year old boy, Dildar Hussain, of Koroyani
village near Sootea was also washed away by the flood waters
of Brahmaputra`s major tributary, Jiabharali recently, a
delayed official report said.
Meanwhile, the rising Brahmaputra and its tributaries
Jiabharali Belsiri, Gabharu and Depota had caused erosion in
the Tezpur area, the reports said.
