Cuttack: The Catholic nun, allegedly
raped during the Kandhamal riots in 2008, was questioned in
the court on Wednesday but defence lawyers maintained she gave
incoherent statements about the incident.
Defence counsel S C Mohapatra who questioned her in
the sessions court where the trial is being held claimed that
the nun gave different versions of the incident in the FIR,
the police and a crime branch officer.

"On one occasion the woman had said that she was raped
under a staircase, while on another occasion she claimed that
a youth of about 40 years had raped her on a verandah,"
Mohapatra said.
Earlier the nun submitted a petition before the court
along with her driving license to prove her identity as a
dispute had arisen over it during cross examination yesterday.

The cross examination will continue tomorrow.
