PCC to be reconstituted: Amarinder Singh

Punjab Congress Chief Amarinder Singh on Saturday said the PCC would be reconstituted soon after the reshuffle in the AICC.

Ludhiana: Punjab Congress Chief Amarinder
Singh on Saturday said the PCC would be reconstituted soon after the
reshuffle in the AICC.

There would be changes in the state Pradesh Congress
Committee and district Congress committees, he told reporters.

But this was possible only after the reshuffle in the
AICC, the former Punjab Chief Minister said after appearing in
a court in connection with a Ludhiana City Centre case.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi was earlier busy with
the Cabinet reshuffle and now with the AICC, he said adding
soon after the rejig in the All India Congress Committee, the
PCC would be reconstituted.

On the SAD-BJP dispensation`s claim about the growth
rate, Singh said "the government is resorting to statistical
jugglery to claim a growth rate which does not exist.

"There are certain standards to measure the growth
rate which need to be taken into consideration before arriving
at a conclusion.

We are looking into the claims and will soon come out
with details revealing the truth (about the growth rate),?
the Congress leader said.

The government could not run on its own on day-to-day
basis and had to borrow money for paying monthly salaries of
its employees, he pointed out.

The Prakash Singh Badal government has claimed the
average growth rate of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at
current prices stood at over 16 per cent.

Alleging the state government had failed on all
fronts, Singh said "lawlessness is at its worst".

Government’s own figures say there has been 65 per
cent deterioration in law and order since the Akalis took
over."
