New Delhi: Kanwarjit Singh Brar, MLA and son of former Punjab chief minister Harcharan Singh Brar, died of cancer at the age of 63 here on Sunday.
Brar, popularly known as `Sunny`, was elected to the
state Assembly from Sri Muktsar Sahib on the Congress ticket
in 2007.
He is survived by his mother, wife and three sons.
The MLA, who came from the United States recently after
undergoing treatment there, breathed his last at his
residence.
Punjab Pradesh Congress chief Amarinder Singh condoled
the death of Kanwarjit, saying the party has lost a committed
and a dedicated leader.
SAD (B) president Sukhbir Singh Badal also mourned MLA`s
death.
