Ramooowalia merges his party with SAD

In a shot in the arm for the ruling SAD ahead of the assembly election, former Union minister Balwant Singh Ramoowalia merged his LBP with SAD.

Ludhiana: In a shot in the arm for the
ruling Shiromani Akali Dal ahead of the assembly election in
Punjab, former Union minister Balwant Singh Ramoowalia on Wednesday merged his Lok Bhalai Party (LBP) with SAD.

An announcement to this effect was made by Ramoowalia at
a rally held on the Ludhiana-Ferozepur road near village
Detwal in the presence of Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal
and his Deputy Sukhbir Badal who is also the SAD chief.

Ramoowalia said his return to SAD was a "home coming and
the party is like a mother to him".
Badals welcomed Ramoowalia`s decision and presented a
saropa (robe of honour) to him.
The Chief Minister hinted a bigger role for Ramoowalia in
Akali and Punjab politics.
