Bharatpur: An eleven-month-old baby girl was on Wednesday killed and four men were injured when a devastating fire broke out in thatched huts at Nagala-Vanara village in Bharatpur district, the police said.

The deceased has been identified as Nandani, they said, adding the four injured men were rushed to Bayana hospital.

Three buffaloes were perished in the fire, while a cow got injured seriously, police said.

The fire broke out in mid-afternoon probably due to sparking in the high-tension wire passing over the thatched huts, they suspected.

Fire tenders and villagers doused the fire in about 2 hours of exercise.

Families of farm labourers (BPL) were living in the thatched huts located in the agricultural area of Bayana, they said.
