With the revival of South-West Monsoon, heavy rain lashed city and its adjoining areas on Sunday, affecting normal life and vehicular traffic.

Jaipur: With the revival of South-West Monsoon, heavy rain lashed city and its adjoining areas on Sunday, affecting normal life and vehicular traffic.

The city witnessed 30 mm of rainfall in the afternoon, a MeT official said.

The South-West Monsoon has revived in Eastern and Western parts of Rajasthan covering Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Bikaner divisions since yesterday, the official said.

Besides Jaipur district, Udaipur has recorded a 7 mm of rainfall followed by Kota 1 mm since 8 am.

The maximun rainfall in the state in last 24 hours was recorded at Merta(9cm). It was followed by Kishangarh (8 cm) and Chambal (7cm). Places like Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions have received one to six cm of downpour.

Monsoon activity would continue in next 48 hours in the state, a forecast said.
