Man arrested for sending SMS threatening blasts

A prankster was arrested for allegedly sending an SMS to Rajasthan state minister Golma Devi, threating serial blasts in the city.

Jaipur: A prankster was on Thursday arrested for allegedly sending an SMS to Rajasthan state minister Golma Devi, threating serial blasts in the city, police said.

"The man identified as Rajesh Meena was nabbed from Kanota locality when he was on his way to Dausa from here after sending the SMS," SP (Jaipur East) Hawa Singh Ghumaria said.

"Primary investigation reveals that he sent the SMS to teach lesson to a few people at Sanganer airport with whom he had some altercation recently," he said.

One of his accomplices has also been detained in this connection and further investigation into the matter is on, the SP said.
Meena had threatened ten blasts in Jaipur with Sanganer airport being the main target in the SMS which was received by Rajasthan minister of state for Khadi, Golma Devi on her mobile phone this morning.

The accused had got the mobile SIM issued on the basis of forged document for this purpose only, police said.

Recently, a school student was arrested for making call to police control room threatening to kill Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. He was later released.

The Vidhan Sabha secretariat had also received an anonymous letter threatening to blow up the Assembly building with RDX, but no explosives were recovered during the search.
