Pre-monsoon showers lash Rajasthan

Pre-monsoon rainfall occurred sparsely in parts of Rajasthan with Rajsamand recording 9 cm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, a MeT department report said.

Jaipur: Pre-monsoon rainfall occurred sparsely in parts of Rajasthan with Rajsamand recording 9 cm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, a MeT department report said.

On the other side of the state, the western districts of Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Barmer, Bikaner and Churu were still reeling under intense heat wave conditions, the report said.

Phalodi in Jodhpur district recorded a maximum temperature of 44.5 degrees Celsius followed by Churu at 42.9 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Chhabra recorded rainfall of 8 cm, followed by Chhoti Sadri 6, Arnod, Pachpahar, Manohar Thana 5 each, Dug 4, Bundi, Jalore 3 each, and one to 2 cm rainfall at many places in the state.

As per the IMD prediction, the SW monsoon is likely to enter the state some time this week (in two days).
