Rajasthan: Dy Secretary of Home Dept held for accepting bribe

A Deputy Secretary of Rajasthan Home Department was Wednesday arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000 from a police sub-inspector here.

Anil Paliwal, a senior Rajasthan Administrative
Service officer, had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 1,20,000
through a upper division clerk Gauri Shankar Solanki from Sub-
Inspector Bhanwar Singh in lieu of making favourable comments
on a file of the SI, which was pending with him,
anti-corruption bureau officials said here.

Bhanwar was called by Paliwal at his house at Love
Kush Nagar this morning where he was arrested while accepting
Rs 60,000 as bribe.
This was the second instalment of the bribe as he
gave Rs 60,000 to the UDC yesterday, IG ACB Umesh Mishra said.

A search is being conducted at the officer`s
residence and the matter is being investigated, he added.
