The Rajasthan Police, which has begun its probe into the rape of a 20-year old Japanese tourist, on Monday said that it has formed teams to nab the culprit.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan Police, which has begun its probe into the rape of a 20-year old Japanese tourist, on Monday said that it has formed teams to nab the culprit.

Inspector General of Police (Jaipur range), DC Jain, said the incident took place on Sunday night after which the victim lodged an FIR at Dudu Police Station.

The tourist had befriended the accused youth while she was visiting Jal Mahal on Sunday. The duo visited a few tourist places on the accused youth`s motorcycle before he took the Japanese student to a deserted place near Mojamabad village and raped her.

"This matter is of a Japanese woman. She came with a tourist visa. While she was visiting places, she met a guy who told her that he would take her around Jaipur. She went with him to several places, and while returning on the pretext of taking her back to the hotel he took her to a secluded place and raped her," said Jain.

"We have taken the statement of the victim and begun our investigation. We have already formed teams to nab the culprit. She said that the accused youth also took her iphone and Rs 40,000 cash from her before escaping," he added.
