Peshawar: Ten Taliban fighters were
killed as Pakistan troops Saturday repulsed militant attacks on
several security check posts in the restive tribal belt in the
country`s northwest, an official spokesman said.
Six militants were killed and others injured when
security forces repulsed an attack by militants on a newly
established check post at Manzuir Cheena in Mohmand Agency,
Frontier Corps spokesman Maj Fazlur Rehman said.
The militants used mortars and heavy weapons while
attacking the post from two directions.
Militants also attacked another check post at Daburi
in Orakzai Agency.
Four attackers were killed and one was arrested in an
injured condition when the troops retaliated, Rehman said.
