More than 40 people, including half a dozen policemen, were injured on Monday when agitated farmers clashed with police.

Kathmandu: More than 40 people, including
half a dozen policemen, were injured on Monday when agitated
farmers clashed with police over the failure of the government
to provide fertiliser at subsidised rate near the capital.

The police baton-charged the farmers who vandalised a
government godown during a demonstrations to protest the
failure of the government to provide adequate subsidised
fertilisers in Dhading and Nuwakot districts.

The situation became tense after dozens of agitating
farmers and the policemen were injured in the incidents,
according to the police. More than 40 people, including half a
dozen policemen, were injured during the clashes.

The police also fired teargas shells during the
clashes with the agitating farmers.
