Didn’t propose Asma, Haroon as caretaker PM: PML-N

The PML-N said it would float the name of a caretaker prime minister after consulting and taking on board all parties in the Opposition.

Lahore: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has denied proposing Asma Jahangir or Hussain Haroon`s name to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-led government for the slot of caretaker prime minister and termed it a baseless rumour.
"There is no substance in the reports that the PML-N has proposed or accepted any name for the office of caretaker premier before the upcoming general elections," The Nation quoted senior PML-N leader Pervez Rashid, as saying.

He added that when the right time comes, the PML-N would float the name of a caretaker prime minister after consulting and taking on board all parties in the Opposition, like it did in the case of the chief election commissioner (CEC).

Rashid blamed the PPP for the rumours that the PML-N has proposed the names of Jahangir and Haroon as caretaker prime minister.

"It is an old ploy of the PPP to spread rumours whenever in trouble," he said.
