Nepal, China sign pact to enhance trade relations

Traders from Nepal and China have signed a pact to enhance cooperation, expand business relations and explore investment opportunities in various fields.

Kathmandu: Traders from Nepal and China have signed a pact to enhance cooperation, expand business relations and explore investment opportunities in various fields.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in
China during a meeting of the Nepal-China Non-Governmental
Cooperation Forum, established in 1996 through an agreement
between the governments of both nations to promote trade,
investment, culture and other bilateral relations.

Led by former president of Federation of Nepalese
Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chandi Raj Dhakal,
the delegation attended a meeting on `Investment in Hydropower
and Agriculture` held in Chengdu city in Sichaun Province in
China on July 28, a statement issued by FNCCI said.

Coordinator of FNCCI`s Hydropower Forum, Gyandendra
Lal Pradhan and another official Arun Shrestha, delivered
presentations on `Investment Opportunities in Hydropower
Sector of Nepal` and `Agriculture and Forest-based Products of
Nepal`.

Entrepreneurs from both countries held negotiations
during the one-to-one session organized later, FNCCI said.

Both sides also agreed to conduct multifold commercial
activities between the two countries such as exchange of trade
delegations and training for Nepalese entrepreneurs.

Around 150 Chinese delegates from various industrial
sectors took part in the meeting.
