Islamabad: A Pakistan Army helicopter on Thursday
made an emergency landing near the federal capital though
there were no reports of casualties or damage to property.
The three personnel in the helicopter were unhurt when
the aircraft made the emergency landing in the Shahzad Town
area, witnesses were quoted as saying by TV news
channels.
The cause of the emergency landing could not be
immediately ascertained.
Footage on television showed ambulances and rescue
services rushing to the spot where the helicopter came down.
The area was cordoned off by police and law enforcement
personnel. Officials said an investigation was underway to ascertain
the cause of the incident.
The Ecureuil helicopter came down in an agricultural
field near some houses shortly after taking off from the
Dhamyal airbase in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.
