Washington: US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Robert Blake, would be travelling next week to Sri Lanka, where he would hold talks with government officials, political leaders and members of civil society on issues of mutual interest.
Blake is visiting Sri Lanka on December 8-9 "as part of our regular bilateral relationship”, the State Department said.
This is Blake`s first trip to Sri Lanka as the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia. He was the US ambassador to Colombo before this posting.
"He will meet with government officials, political leaders and civil society," the State Department said.
