Peshawar: Two Indian nationals were
arrested by authorities in Chitral district of northwest
Pakistan on Wednesday for visiting the region without valid
documents.
Ayaz Ahmed, a resident of Mumbai, and Nasir Ahmed,
hailing from Gujarat state, were arrested by police in the
main bazar in Chitral.
District police chief Muhammad Jaffer Khan said the
Indian nationals had visas to visit Buner district but had no
legal documents or permission to visit the Chitral region of
North West Frontier Province.
Police registered a case against the two men under the
Foreigners Act.
Both Indians are now in the custody of intelligence
agencies, officials said.
The Indians had come to Buner district to meet their
relatives.
They travelled to Chitral from Buner, officials said.
