Kumbakonam: Accusing AIADMK of only
bringing misery to the people during its regime, Union
Shipping Minister G K Vassan Saturday sought a mandate for
DMK-Congress combine on the plank of development in the
April 13 Assembly elections.
"You have to choose between development and bad rule.
AIADMK`s achievement is only causing misery to the people.
During its regimes, several welfare schemes introduced by DMK
were abandoned. On the other hand, Chief Minister M
Karunanidhi has fulfilled all his promises," he claimed here.
Canvassing votes for DMK candidate K Anbalagan in this
temple town, he said Kumbakonam was one of the constituencies
close to his heart. "This is where my father G K Moopanar
started his political career," he said.
Victory in this constituency would lay the foundation for
DMK rule, he said.
Listing out various schemes implemented by the central
and state governments, he said all the schemes mentioned in
the DMK manifesto would be brought to the doorsteps of the
people.
