Five killed in road accident

Madurai: Five dalit youths were killed and
five others injured when their van collided with a container
lorry at Nagamalai Pudukottai in the district, police said
on Monday.

Police said the van was proceeding in the wrong side of the
road and the lorry driver could not stop his vehicle suddenly
resulting in the collision yesterday.

The youths, hailing from Sirinayakan Patti village in
Dindigul district, were on their way to Paramakudi to pay
homage to Dalit leader Imanuel Sekar.

All the injured were admitted to govenment hospital
here, police said.
