Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
Jayalalithaa Tuesday announced allotting a sum of over Rs two
crore to develop Kolli Hills in Namakkal district as an
eco-tourism attraction.
The government was making efforts to identify areas with
tourism potential that witnessed lesser number of tourists
and develop them to ensure more visitors, a state government
release here said.
Accordingly, Kolli Hills in Namakkal, marked by water
falls, botanical and herbal parks and places of religious
worship, among others, will be developed as an eco-tourism
destination, the release said.
As part of this, infrastructure development and many other
works, including putting in place amenities for tourists at
two waterfalls, will be taken up and Jayalalithaa has directed
allotting Rs 2.75 crore, it said.
