13 more die in UP due to cold; death toll reaches 102

Thirteen more people, including two children, died due to severe cold conditions in different parts of Uttar Pradesh, taking the toll in the state this winter to 102.

two children, died due to severe cold conditions in different
parts of Uttar Pradesh, taking the toll in the state this
winter to 102.
While three persons each died in Barabanki and
Balrampur districts, two deaths were reported from Kaushambi
and one each from Chitrakoot, Basti, Orai, Sant Kabirnagar and
Bareilly, officials said here.

Cold conditions prevailed in most parts of the state,
MeT department officials said, adding, sun came out at many
places, but it failed to give respite to the people.

Lucknow recorded a minimum of 1.4 degrees Celsius this
morning, which was six notches below normal, while Varanasi
recorded a low of 2.7 deg C, six notches below normal.
Kanpur shivered at 2.2 deg C while minimum temperature
in Allahabad was 4.8 deg C.

Agra was the coldest place in Uttar Pradesh with a
minimum temperature of 1 deg C, six degree below normal.
