Baghpat: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth in Chaprauli police station area here, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place last evening when the girl was alone at her house following which the 22-year-old youth forced her to come to his house, threatening to kill her brother and then raped her, police station incharge of Chauprauli Rajesh Kumar Verma said today.
On the complaint of the victim's family, the accused has been arrested, Verma said.
As the girl and the accused belonged to different communities, the incident has led to tension in the area and additional force has been deployed as a precautionary measure, he added.
