Austrian national arrested for illegal stay

A 24-year-old Austrian National has been arrested from Madhuban colony here, for illegally staying in India and his passport confiscated, police said today.

Mathura: A 24-year-old Austrian National has been arrested from Madhuban colony here, for illegally staying in India and his passport confiscated, police said today.

The Austrian resident identified as Michel Ronalter landed in Delhi on February 19 last year on a tourist visa and came to Vrindavan ten days ago, according to an FIR lodged by Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) Inspector ML Gaur.

Though the visa was meant for the period February 8, 2013 to August 7, 2013, he continued to move in Uttarakhand, Himachal and Delhi, the FIR said.

Meanwhile, SSP Nitin Tewari has instructed to start a drive against illegal stay of foreign Nationals in Mathura.
