BJP condemns Congress for `dishonouring martyrs`

BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi condemned the Congress for allegedly identifying martyrs of the freedom struggle by their castes in a party-backed newspaper.

on Friday condemned the Congress for allegedly identifying martyrs
of the freedom struggle by their castes in a party-backed
newspaper.

The BJP vice-president claimed, Sardar Bhagat Singh and
Rajguru were shown as `Jat` and `Brahmin` in the Congress
newspaper which is an insult to the martyrs.

He said Congress was now identifying Mahatma Gandhi as
`baniya`, to get political benefits by fracturing Indians on
the lines of religion and caste.

"I would advice and urge the Congress to declare the
caste of its president Sonia Gandhi," he said.

Later, Naqvi staged a `dharna` at Gandhi memorial along
with party workers in protest.
