Lucknow: BJP will hold protests at all the
district headquarters in Uttar Pradesh against the Union Cabinet`s decision to allow foreign direct investment (FDI) in the retail sector.
Terming the central government`s move as self-destructive
which would allow companies like Walmart and Tesco to set up
shop in the country, BJP state unit president Surya Pratap
Shahi said this would pose a danger to small businesses and
village industry which in turn would lead to unemployment.
Asserting that his party would oppose the decision at
every level, Shahi asked various wings of the party to
participate in the protests for which the dates would be
announced soon.
