New Delhi: Former minister Ammar Rizvi figures in the fourth list of 58 candidates announced by the Congress today for the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, taking the number of party nominees announced so far to 271.
Uttar Pradesh, which goes to the polls early next year,
has a total of 403 assembly seats and Congress is expected to
give around 45 seats to Ajit Singh`s RLD under a poll tie-up
arrived at recently.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the Central Election Committee of
the party which includes AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and Prime
Minister Manmohan Singh took place tonight to finalise the
remaining 80 odd seats.
