Delegation from Varanasi meets Modi to chalk out developmental plan for holy city

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met a delegation from his parliamentary constituency, of Varanasi to chalk out and implement developmental plan for the region.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met a delegation from his parliamentary constituency, of Varanasi to chalk out and implement developmental plan for the region.

Varanasi Mayor, Ram Gopal Mohale, on Saturday said that they discussed implementation of budgetary provisions for the welfare of the people.

"He is a lawmaker from Kasi (Varanasi). We are going to discuss plans to develop Purvanchal and how to implements provisions of the budget," Mohale said in New Delhi.

Legislator from Varanasi, Kedar Nath Singh, said their main demands were upgradation of the city`s hospital, cleaning of scared River Ganges and matters related to weavers.
"We want upgradation and development of it (hospital), along with it Prime Minister`s planregarding Ganges and matters related to weavers," Singh added.

Varanasi, one of the oldest cities of the country, is called the heart of Hinduism, where pilgrims come to wash away their sins in the sacred Ganges River and worship Lord Shiva. But the city lacks basic amenities and infrastructure.
