Muzaffarnagar: Deportation of a mother
of four minor children hailing from Pakistan has been put off
for time being on humanitarian consideration, a senior
district police officer said on Sunday.

Deportation of 40-year-old Rehana Praveen has been
suspended till decision of the government on the district
administration plea to extend her visa, Senior Superintendent
of Police Praveen Kumar said.

Moved by predicament of the woman, the district
administration had yesterday urged the government to allow her
to stay with her family till decision on extending her visa
was taken.

Ever since she received the order on Thursday last, the
lady has been crying inconsolably for future of her four
children, aged between one to eight.

In the order served by police she was asked to leave the
country by today on expiry of her long term visa recently.

The woman, daughter of an Indian woman who is settled in
Pakistan, was living in Kairana town here since her marriage
to one Mohammad Saeed 11 years ago on the basis of long term
visa. Decision on her prayer for Indian citizenship is
pending.
