Two persons were killed as dust storm accompanied with rainfall lashed several areas in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours, officials said here on Saturday.

Harpal Singh (60) and his wife Krishna (55) were
electrocuted in Nahtaur area in Bijnore district here when
they came into contact with a live electricity wire damaged
during the dust storm, said police officials.

The temperature fell below normal at a number of places
in the state due to the dust storm followed by rainfall in the
state, MET department said.

The state capital recorded 38.1 deg C, which was
two notches below normal.

In Gorakhpur maximum temperature hovered around 35
deg C, which was four degree below normal, while Bareilly
recorded a maximum of 37 deg C, which was three notches
below normal.

A maximum rainfall of 53 mm was recorded at Bisalpur in
Pilibhit district, said MET officials.
